Lors d'une précédente astuce, nous avons vu comment installer Windows 8 avec un numéro de série spécifique, sans avoir à le taper. Aujourd'hui, nous avons décidé de vous expliquer comment installer Windows 8 sans clef produit, celle-ci étant tout de même nécessaire pour une activation a posteriori.
Comme nous l'avons plusieurs fois évoqué, Windows 8 demande une clef produit lors de sa procédure d'installation, contrairement à Windows 7. C'est en effet le cas pour les éditions Standard et Pro (mais pas l'entreprise qui utilise un procédé différent).
Cette façon de faire peut néanmoins être contournée assez simplement, via la création d'un fichier ei.cfg au sein du répertoire sources de votre clef USB d'installation (ou de votre ISO). Celui-ci n'est plus présent par défaut sous Windows 8, mais était utilisé sous Windows 7 pour indiquer la version à installer.
Son contenu pourra différer selon vos besoins, mais dans le cas de notre test, il était le suivant :

Le premier paramètre peut prendre les valeurs Core, Pro ou Enterprise, la seconde Retail ou OEM et la dernière sera à mettre à 1 si vous disposez d'une licence en volume et à 0 dans les autres cas. Avec ce fichier présent, aucune clef produit ne vous sera demandée jusqu'au premier démarrage. Vous pourrez alors choisir d'ignorer cette étape.
